Scott and I spoke often about what type of travelers we are. We know we like to spend time in each place. We are not inclined to be on the run. We want to settle in. Learn how the … Continue reading Cape Town-By Christy

Yes. We have returned home. We are back. We have yet to fully embrace our old lives and seem to be picking little pieces of new and old processes we will adopt here in our home lives. The permanent change … Continue reading Active Recovery- By Christy
Ghana is an interesting stop, to say the least. Of the countries we are visiting I think the fewest people on the ship have been to. By 2020 Ghana is striving to become the first developed country in west Africa. Currently, I’m not very confident that is going to happen. One of their largest issues is the GDP per capita, it’s only $1,000 USD a year. Day one my dad had a field class with his Social and Sustainable Venturing class. The course had a focus on the global chocolate industry, so they went to a Cocoa plantation. One of … Continue reading Ghana-by Tate
Tomorrow morning, April 19th, we disembark in Hamburg, Germany. Our journey started on January 2nd in San Diego. We traveled for 104 days – 56 days on sea, 48 days in 10 different countries. Boy howdy – what a time! … Continue reading gratitude, by scott
During our time in Ghana, the days started out hot. And, then got a bit hotter. And a bit more humid. And, then hotter and more humid. Soon, it seemed as if your sweat was sweating. Can you imagine a full body quilt made of perspiration? I can’t quite find the right word to describe it…except to simply say it was just too hot. We spent four days in Ghana. The colors, the music and the food are all embodied with joy. The people are hard-working, upbeat, proud and welcoming. Although it was too hot, Ghana was also just too … Continue reading too hot, too cool. by Scott
Rich in history and nature South Africa makes for an interesting stop. Maybe the most dangerous county we have visited, there is an estimated 50 murders a day across South Africa, not to mention all of the sneaky card swappers … Continue reading South Africa-by Tate
Learning happens in every single corner of the ship. You learn from professors, college student, crew members and the general population. And, learning happens with every step you take on land. The countries, cities and people, open themselves up to … Continue reading Opportunity- by Christy
I am not an expert on much, if anything, but I’m always trying to learn more. Book learning can only take us so far. At some point in time, over the course of one’s education in the US, the caste in India and apartheid in South Africa are ‘covered’. I have to admit that I don’t recall when I studied them in school; or what I learned about them. Did it actually get covered? If it did, I most certainly didn’t gain much insight into either. Maybe I wasn’t paying sufficient attention when these topics were discussed. Or maybe sufficient … Continue reading not an expert, by Scott
I went on the best zipline I have ever seen. This course took a year to design and build. This place was very beautiful and we were ziplining through canyons. I was nervous on the first zipline. I have done many … Continue reading South Africa-By Lincoln

I suspected it would be too much for me. So many have explained to me what India is, what their experience had been. This country is described as a place with many highs and extreme lows. A place with so … Continue reading India- By Christy
India the estimated soon to be largest country in the world. Home of the Taj Mahal and the Ganges river. It has almost any landscape you can think of, from the world’s highest mountains to huge mangrove forests, it’s a … Continue reading India-By Tate
