I went on the best zipline I have ever seen. This course took a year to design and build. This place was very beautiful and we were ziplining through canyons. I was nervous on the first zipline. I have done many ziplines but I have not done one in Africa.
When we arrived at Cape Canopy tours, we rode in a pick-up truck with seats in the back. Our guide told us to hang on during the ride and enjoy the “African massage”. It was a long ride up the mountain with bumps in it. The first part of the ride almost made me throw-up.
My dad was nervous because he had to put his hand on the cable behind the pulley for safety. I think he had to slow himself down. I did not have to do this. The guide did the braking for me. One time, the guide, had to come out on the line to get me and help me to the platform. This did not make me nervous because I had a harness on.

This is a picture of two elephants. We were taking a safari to see these elephants. We were able to get very close to them. One elephant flapped his ear at us meaning that this was his territory. He was telling us to leave.

This is a picture of five zebras that we were able to see on the safari. You might notice that there is brown mixed in with their white and black. Usually zebras do not have that.
This is me and my brother in a postcard from Table Mountain. Table Mountain is behind us. Tate is pointing at it. I was doing an Egyptian dance.

I am kayaking out to see African penguins with my family. It was surprising to see penguins in a very hot place. They were swimming in the water and walking around on the beach.

So many adventures! Awesome!

Lincoln you are very brave to do a zip line. When you did the zip line were you able to look at the canyon and scenery or are you too busy watching where the zip line is taking you? Great writing.

Riding the zip line sounds very exiting. Saw a picture of the of the canyon, looks very rugged. It must be exciting to see elephants up close in their wild enviroment. Your writing about your adventures is very, very good. Maybe you will take Tate’s place in the 6th grade when you return to Portland.
