We’re on a ship, not a boat. This is a voyage, not a cruise. Left is port, right is starboard. The ship rolls to port and starboard and pitches to fore and aft. And I got a headache because this ship, on its voyage, does a fair amount of pitching fore to aft. And, because I’m staying very focused on these terms to avoid embarrassing myself by complementing the captain on how cool his boat is…
Ever trying to run on a treadmill that is set up looking starboard while pitching? (i.e, I was facing the left side of the ship while it was rocking back and forth from front to back). Whoa. Kinda cool and kinda not so cool. Nothing broken…yet.
Eating more fish than, well, ever. Which I hear is a good thing. Expect good things from my next check up with the doc once we’re back. Something like…’wow, you’re heart sounds great. You must’ve been running on a roller coast of a treadmill and eating lots of fish’. And, I reply, “you got it doc. Wow. How’d you know?”
Actually for a kitchen serving something in the range of 700 people three meals a day, it’s turning out some pretty fine food. I’m saving my secret stash of hot sauce until later in the voyage. Figure at some point even the tasty cod with mango + pineapple salsa is going to seem quite bland a few months into the voyage.
Well, Zootopia is playing in the theater tonight. Best get back to the cabin and see who’s up for the show.
