Well, since the other three have their first posts up on the blog, I figured I’d best get something up as well. Given what you’ve read so far you can probably imagine that I am figuring out how to pack construction tools – a drill, table saw, hammer and nails. It seems like there will be some major remodeling underway in our cabin during the first few days. Shouldn’t be a problem installing a wall and second bathroom – right? And I’ll just have to pack light in terms of clothing…or just re-wear what I leave the house in on Sunday? Sacrifices must be made.
Many have asked about our previous experience asea. Yeah! We’re going on a ship? For nearly 4 months? And the most experience any of have aboard water going vessels is a few hours on the Portland Spirit? Hmmm…guess ‘throwing caution to the wind’ applies to the ocean breezes. We’re well provisioned with sea sickness relievers: patches, pills, bracelets. I’m thinking a good craft beer will do the trick. Suppose I’ll tuck a few Portland craft beers in between the table saw and drill and throw out the last remaining items of clothing. Priority setting!
Well, now that I stocked with beer and tools, I prepared. And, that’s all I’ve got to say at this time. Cheers!
